"Charged" v. "Convicted"
Many people who have been "charged" with a criminal offence, phone me thinking that they have been "convicted". There is a big difference in these concepts. You need to meet with a lawyer to explain the difference.
When you attend Court at first appearance in Ontario, you do not have to say "guilty" or "not guilty". That very important decision should only happen after you have obtained disclosure and reviewed that disclosure with a lawyer in a lawyer's office.
